I'm sure our neighbors wondered why I was on a ladder taking a pic of this pot of flowers! The things we will do for a shot...

This triangle-shaped trellis has a couple black-eyed susan vines growing on it. I can already tell that the vines are going to crowd out the verbena that I also planted in the pot. I'll need to replant them soon.

I got home from a 3-day work trip today and my husband told me to get my camera and come outside with him. This snake skin was on our front sidewalk. Of course, I thought it looked 6 or 7 feet long! (He said it's just about 4 1/2.)

I really don't want to see the snake, I hope it shed its skin and slithered to someone else's yard!

This is beautiful Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Clarksville, TN, where my family worships. The building was dedicated in 1900 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This is a part of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall. It was in Oak Grove, Kentucky (Fort Campbell) over the weekend and is a beautiful tribute to the many who lost their lives.

I didn't get very many photos because it started raining shortly after we got there. :-(

I saved my favorite for the last in my series of the Portsmouth Murals. It feels like you can walk right into the street pictured here. This is the main street in Portsmouth, Chillicothe Street, in the 1940s. Many of these buildings are still there (although the businesses they house have changed).

Another floodwall mural in Portsmouth, Ohio. This is Jesse Stuart, an author who wrote about northeastern Kentucky and the surrounding area which includes Portsmouth.

This mural depicts the major industries in the Portsmouth area today. Located in the left third of the mural are pictures featuring gray iron casting as processed by OSCO Industries, Inc. The middle third shows an aerial view of the uranium enrichment plant located near Piketon, Ohio. The right third shows scenes inside Mitchellace, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of shoe laces. Inside both the shoe lace manufacturing and gray iron casting portions are reverse telescopic views of these industries in the past.

Although this looks almost like a book, it's actually two sections (and two photos) of the floodwall murals in Portsmouth, Ohio where I grew up. I remember hanging out at several of these places as a child. (There is scaffolding set up on the left of the photo, I think they were cleaning some of the murals this day.)

My next series of photos are of the Portsmouth Murals in Ohio where I grew up. My DSLR battery was dead when we got there, so I used the little camera I carry in my purse.

This is one of my favorites. This mural shows a modern-day twilight scene of downtown Portsmouth as seen from the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. Featured is the U.S. Grant Bridge connecting with lower Chillicothe Street.
