This mural depicts the major industries in the Portsmouth area today. Located in the left third of the mural are pictures featuring gray iron casting as processed by OSCO Industries, Inc. The middle third shows an aerial view of the uranium enrichment plant located near Piketon, Ohio. The right third shows scenes inside Mitchellace, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of shoe laces. Inside both the shoe lace manufacturing and gray iron casting portions are reverse telescopic views of these industries in the past.

Though I was born in Ohio, I know nothing about its history, so this is quite interesting.
